Daedalus in Knossos framed
a dancing-floor for Ariadne,
Above the threatening wave
She leapt and spun with outstretched arms,
Above the threatening wave
From Athens' shore a ship came leaping,
Above the threatening wave
And Theseus brave joined in the dance,
Above yon threatening wave
